Lisa Ann Smith (she/her/hers)

I am passionate about my work and strongly believe in the healing benefits of psychotherapy. I view therapy as a process through which we explore the issues that confront you, place them in a context and develop strategies for change. By engaging in this process not only do we learn new ways of coping or getting “unstuck” but we also develop a more genuine relationship with ourselves, others and the world in general. I am authentic and direct but a considerate therapist who will work with you and assist in empowering you to move forward in meeting your goals with care, compassion and a sense of humor.
Lisa has been working in the Behavioral Health field since 1993 and has a rich and diverse range of experiences from working with patients/clients in Mental Health Centers, Detox Clinics, Universities, Correctional Facilities, and Hospitals.
Her experience spans disorders, populations and modes of treatment from working with chronically mentally ill to individuals dealing with anxiety, substance abuse, depression, mood disorders, to people wanting to improve communication, coping with loss and trauma, help couples dealing with relationship issues, developing family and interpersonal relationships to career transitions.
Lisa’s education encompasses a, Doctor of Jurisprudence, Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling, Clinically Certified Criminal Justice Specialist, Masters Addictions Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor and Mediator (Registered Neutral).
Lisa has an extensive education and work career from management to being a Director for a large corporation dealing with system initiatives, coaching development and contract negotiations but therapy has become her life’s passion. My objective in counseling is to help you clarify issues, gain insight into your thoughts and feelings to deal effectively with problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, substance abuse, alcoholism, and grief. I will work with you to help you identify your strengths, gain insight into your ways of thinking, feelings and begin a process of change and growth. Sometimes you know WHAT you need to do but just can’t do it! Counseling can help you understand what is getting in your way of making the changes you want in your life. Counseling can also teach you ways of dealing with stressful life events and circumstances you cannot change. My goal is to help you analyze and respond to the internal pressures and negative attitudes towards yourself or others.
Lenice has been working in the Behavioral Health field since 2005 and has a vast experience with different treatment modalities such as assessments, intakes, psycho educational groups, psychotherapy groups, seminars, individual therapy, family therapy and couples counseling. Her expertise has led her to do many presentations, classes and workshops.

Her focus moved in time from mental health to substance abuse and eventually to co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse issues). Lenice then started concentrating on assessments as well as individual counseling. Her skills led her to work in management as a clinical coordinator, supervising staff in an Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program. Her responsibilities grew to incorporate some aspects of Court Services and a 24/7 Crises Call Center. As Lenice began to center her attention to outpatient services, it became apparent how much she missed and enjoyed the therapeutic process. Lenice is pleased to be have come full circle and be back doing what she loves, working with individuals, family and couples in her tele-mental health practice.

(Suboxone), an alternative to Methadone management for clients struggling with this issue.
Dr Haley’s role at 1 Alliance Counseling & Psychotherapy Services as Medical Director and

working in such a collegiate environment with other therapists as well as working with patients
established therapist or referring them to a caring and reputable professional within or outside
